By downloading, installing, or accessing TerrainIQ from Google Play, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

1. Scope of Service

TerrainIQ is provided strictly as an informational and convenience tool designed to display real-time weather, environmental data, and activity tracking functionality for outdoor activities.

2. Location & GPS Disclaimers

• Accuracy Limitations: Global Positioning System (GPS) precision depends heavily on hardware, satellite visibility, weather, terrain obstruction, and cell service. TerrainIQ cannot guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free position accuracy.
• Third-Party Data Disclaimer: TerrainIQ retrieves weather and map layers from third-party APIs. We do not warrant the absolute accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of environmental conditions provided through the app.

3. Critical Safety Notice

• No Automated Emergency Dispatch: TerrainIQ does not monitor location tracking feeds, dispatch search and rescue (SAR), or alert emergency responders.
• In Emergencies: In any life-threatening situation or emergency, always contact local emergency services directly (e.g., 911, official mountain rescue, or dedicated satellite SOS hardware).
• Assumption of Risk: Outdoor navigation involves inherent risks, including extreme weather, physical injury, or getting lost. You assume full responsibility for all safety decisions, route planning, and carrying physical backup navigation gear (maps/compass).

4. License and Prohibited Conduct

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use TerrainIQ for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app.
• Use the service for unlawful tracking, stalking, or harassing individuals without their express consent.
• Attempt to bypass API rate limits or disrupt service operations.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, the developers, owners, and affiliates of TerrainIQ shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from:

• Errors, interruptions, or inaccuracies in GPS tracking, mapping, or weather forecasts.
• Personal injury, property loss, or death incurred while participating in outdoor activities while using TerrainIQ.

6. Termination and Updates

We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue any aspect of the app at any time without prior notice. We may update these Terms at any time, and continued usage of the application indicates acceptance of the revised terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States of America.
